Vicky Phelan: Being authentic and standing up for what you believe in
Activist Vicky Phelan, is the epitome of a powerhouse. She has integrity running through every vein in her body and she fundamentally believes in the power of speaking up for what you believe in.
Last year she was thrust into public light when she made a very powerful statement on the steps of the four courts, having refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement in the settlement of her action against the HSE.
It would come to light that Vicky, along with over 220 women with cervical cancer were given false results. In many cases, their cancers could have been prevented.
Vicky through her unrelenting desire for justice uncovered the medical and political scandal of our times.
